Aleck SCOTT born 11 Jan 1902, son of Philip and Emma SCOTT, at the police house at 7 Worcester Terrace, Newton, Glamorgan. After his father's death in 1915, Aleck moved to London and worked as a railway goods checker at Kings Cross station. He married Florence Margaret PHILLIPS 8 Sep 1931, witnessed by Aleck's sister Phyllis Scott. He sometimes signed himself as Alick Scott.

They had one son, John SCOTT, 1932-1992.

Aleck Scott died 25 Feb 1934 aged 32, of peritonitis. His widow Florence then raised their son John single-handed. She worked in bookbinding, firstly in Wood Green, London; during the war she moved to First Avenue, West Molesey, Surrey, and worked for James Burn publishers in Esher. In 1963 Flo moved to Bognor Regis, West Sussex, and remained with the same company until retirement.
After her retirement, Florence Scott was married secondly on 27 Feb 1971, to Herbert Arthur HENSMAN (Bert Hensman). Bert Hensman died 20 Apr 1997; Flo died 23 Dec 1999 aged 94.
