Here's my family tree. Why? Well, like many other people, I simply wondered about my ancestors. Who were they? Where did they live? Then, what did they do and how did they live? As the 'genealogy bug' bit deeper, the ancestral lines went further back in time. So, if you're looking for your ancestors too, and a search engine has brought you this far, do check the Names Index and the Places Index.

This site describes four family trees, those of my grand-parents, in England and Wales. These go back for at least five further generations, the earliest so far is 1666.

The SCOTT line

My SCOTT surname line goes back to 18th century Stourbridge in Worcestershire. Main characters were George Scott (1769-1842), Francis SCOTT (1799-1863) and Francis SCOTT (1827-1897). They were all builders and I think a number of houses built by them survive today in Stourbridge. The Wills of George Scott, Francis Scott and John Scott of Stourbridge also mention other people and addresses in in that area which may be of interest to local historians.
